Beth Echols worked in the Baptist Joint Committee communications department for several years in the 1960s and 70s. As an accredited journalist covering Congress, she wrote stories about issues like school prayer and civil rights. In this podcast, the 92-year-old recalls moving to D.C. and serving under two executive directors: Emanuel Carlson and James E. Wood. The work may have been serious, but Echols says that the BJC staff found time for fellowship and laughs.
