For more than 25 years, Holly Hollman has led BJC’s legal efforts. She has announced that she’ll be starting a new chapter in her life and career. Today, I know I am joined by supporters of faith freedom in sharing our immense gratitude and well-wishes for Holly and her many contributions to our shared mission.

I encourage you to read Holly’s reflections in her final “Hollman Report,” which is online now and will be in the next edition of Report from the Capital, hitting homes later this month. Holly offers not just her personal reflections on her career but insightful analysis of church-state cases that the U.S. Supreme Court decided last term and has taken up for the next term. It is an appropriate way for her to sign off from her time at BJC since it is exactly this kind of work for which she has been known and respected for a quarter century.

Holly’s remarkable career with BJC leaves us a north star for what excellent legal advocacy for religious freedom for all looks like. After Holly’s last day on BJC staff on August 7, I will step into the role of leading BJC’s legal work on an interim basis, working with BJC’s policy counsel, David Segal. In the coming months, we will hire another lawyer to join our team. In the meantime, you can expect BJC’s unwavering voice for religious freedom for all to be active in the courts, legislatures and other government bodies across the country – just as it has for 90 years and as it will continue to do for the next 90 years and beyond.
