Emily Hull McGee unselfieI give monthly to the Baptist Joint Committee because I believe that the work they do matters. In a day and age where the line of separation between church and state is both blurry and stark, it is of high value to me that a voice of reason and freedom is at the table among our country’s most significant policymakers. Every time I see my financial gift to the BJC subtracted from my bank account, I am reminded of my participation in ensuring a robust religious freedom for myself and my country, as well as my responsibility to keep this good work of Love alive. It is a privilege to join in the religious liberty movement alongside the BJC!

As a pastor of a church full of Democrats and Republicans, I believe in the focused, intentional work of the BJC that keeps churches like mine united in our commitment to religious freedom. As a young minister, I give thanks for the work of the BJC on so many fronts that directly engage with peers of mine in a variety of life stages and situations. And as a mama of two little ones, I am grateful for the BJC for their tireless work that will enable my Liam and Annabelle to live in a place where all religious views are respected and protected. In all these ways, the BJC is doing God’s work of Love in this world, and for that, I give with great joy!
