Dept. of Justice to Appeal Day of Prayer Ruling

No surprise, but the Obama Administration intends to appeal a federal judge's ruling that the statute establishing the National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional. The notice of appeal was filed today with the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Judge Barbara Crabb's decision explicitly allows the bill to remain in place pending all appeals. The President's declaration of May 6 as the 2010 National Day of Prayer is unaffected by the ruling.
