The Supreme Court today has agreed to take up the case challenging the Arizona Tuition Tax Credit. The 9th Circuit previously declared the program to be an unconstitutional advancement of religion. The program offers a new twist on the old voucher schemes: a $500 tax credit for donations toward school tuition at nonprofit institutions. The majority of taxpayer funds, the 9th circuit found, went to religious school organizations.
