Watch this fantastic and brief video, just released by the Baptist Joint Committee, explaining how important it is for religious freedom advocates to work together in diverse coalitions. One of the linchpins of the BJC’s success for more than 80 years in Washington D.C. has been its ability to reach across religious and political divides to further important principles of religious liberty.
If you have started to wonder – like I have – whether today’s hardened partisan battle lines have made progress on Capitol Hill impossible, do yourself a favor and watch. It’s a reminder that there serious institutions of principle that focus clearly on their mission really do exist. The BJC has built enough trust over many years of leadership to bring groups together in the interest of religious liberty for everyone. It makes a difference. See for yourself.
