In a state struggling through its own mosque construction controversy, a new poll finds support for Muslims and for the building is strong. 66% of Tennesseans either support or do not object to the proposed Islamic Center in Murfreesboro.
In addition, 67% support full, equal rights for Americans who follow Islam. While that number is a bit depressingly low – c'mon, full and equal religious liberty rights for all Americans! – this is in a poll that still finds just over a third (37%) mistakenly believe President Obama himself is Muslim.
