Charles Watson Jr. has been named the Education and Outreach Specialist of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty.

A graduate of The Citadel and McAfee School of Theology, Watson has been serving as the Children’s Director of Buckhead Baptist Church in Atlanta and as a hospice chaplain. He is a decorated member of the United States Air Force and a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship-endorsed chaplain.

BJC Executive Director J. Brent Walker lauded Watson’s ability to create connections with a variety of communities.

“Charles brings a unique skill set to the Baptist Joint Committee,” Walker said. “His work will be focused on expanding the base of support for religious liberty and engaging the next generation of advocates.”

Watson will join the BJC staff in Washington on July 8.
