You can always stay current on major Baptist Joint Committee events and happenings through the website, and through e-mail updates (sign up for those with your address, right on the front page – you might as well do it now. I'll wait…)
But did you know there is also a BJC Facebook page, and a Twitter feed? Become a fan, and follow the latest. Even more importantly, let them know who you are, and comment on items that interest you. It's not a bad way to let your friends know that you care about church-state separation, and support the work of the Baptist Joint Committee. If you have your own web page, or blog, you may also want to add this blog's RSS feed to your site.
No matter how you keep up with the work of the BJC, you may have already received word of 2 important announcements, but here they are again:
1. The Religious Liberty Essay Contest winners were announced! Go check it out.
2. The BJC is joining with the other First Freedoms affiliates (Associated Baptist Press and Baptists Today) in Norman, OK on August 7, to host a dinner in conjunction with the New Baptist Covenant's Midwest Regional Meeting.Tickets are on sale now for $40. Type "First Freedoms Dinner" in the comments section of the online donation form.
One way or another – and the BJC seems to be offering plenty of ways these days – stay in touch, keep informed, and show your support, however you can.
Now, back to regularly scheduled church/state posts…
