The 2016 Walter B. and Kay W. Shurden Lectures on Religious Liberty and Separation of Church and State were held April 4-5 on the campus of Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

This year’s lecturer, Dr. Molly T. Marshall, discussed the value of religious liberty both in the United States and abroad. During her first presentation, Marshall stressed the importance of embracing a pluralistic society rather than simply tolerating the beliefs of others. She also discussed the dangers of mixing faith and politics, especially in an election year.
