As a brief followup to the ground zero mosque dustup, Justin Elliott snarkily notes that a facility at the Pentagon has accommodated the religious practice of Muslim employees there for several years without protest.
Yes, Muslims have infiltrated the Pentagon for their nefarious, prayerful purposes — daring to practice their religion inside the building where 184 people died on Sept. 11, 2001. They haven't even had the sensitivity to move two blocks, let alone a mile, away from that sacred site.
Meanwhile, the ACLJ has filed a petition with the state's supreme court to protest the denial of landmark status allowing the ground zero mosque to proceed.
And in Tennessee, where another mosque controversy has filled headlines, candidates for Governor and Congress who were most harshly and openly questioning the equal rights of Muslims – Ron Ramsey and Lou Ann Zelenik – were defeated in Republican primaries yesterday.
