Jason Smith unselfieI give monthly to the Baptist Joint Committee because, as a BJC intern years ago, I learned the vital importance that religious liberty plays in our society. I had the chance to see firsthand what it means to defend and extend religious liberty for all people, no matter their background.

Having the BJC as an advocate for the religion clauses of the First Amendment plays a supremely important role in how I view our pluralistic society and how I practice my faith from the perspective of freedom of the individual. My love for my neighbors extends to those who share a different faith than I do, and I fight for the religious liberty of others as well as liberty for myself.

My giving helps invest in a top-notch group of people in Washington, D.C., fighting for everyone’s freedom of religion. It’s one thing to believe in freedom of religion, but by investing my money in the BJC, I become a part of the movement to ensure religious liberty for all.
