A Dallas Morning News editorial today urges the Texas Board of Education to revisit the Social Studies curriculum when newly elected members join, to undo some of the more controversial, damaging changes narrowly voted in earlier this month.

The standards approved last week need not be the last word. The board that comes into office in January, which should have two to three more moderate members, could revise them, if the new board moves fast.

To be clear, we're not asking for a wholesale rewrite…. In fact, there are many common-sense parts.

But then you get to points like the one playing down the separation of church and state.
