Stan Hastey’s storied career includes 15 years in the BJC communications department and another 20 as executive director of the Alliance of Baptists. Hastey is also a student of Baptist history and wrote his doctoral dissertation on the Baptist Joint Committee. In this podcast, the most recent J.M. Dawson Religious Liberty Award recipient discusses Baptist life and the Baptist Joint Committee since its founding in 1936. He shares his personal memories of several former executive directors, serving on the BJC staff, and how the organization has developed over the years. Although he is retired, Hastey shows no signs of allowing his curiosity to rest.
