Despite pleas for patience and delay from education officials and national figures, the Texas Board of Education seems determined to push ahead with a schedule that calls for a vote tomorrow on Social Studies curriculum revisions. Yesterday's public hearing included testimony from former Bush Education Secretary Rod Paige who begged the Board "to not let political ideology and beliefs guide your decisions."

Today, amendments will be debated. I will update this post when and if church-state issues come up. Also, check out the Texas Freedom Network blog for live updates on today's proceeding. Or watch the meeting live – if you dare – here.
